Our Story
Dhanna Bhagat Birdh Ashram is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) established with the noble aim of providing comfort, security, and peace of mind to senior citizens seeking a calm and dignified life. The Ashram is operated as a non-profit institution by Gursevak Singh Naulakha for Promotion of Indian Heritage, a dedicated social service organization committed to the welfare of the elderly.
The Ashram serves as a “home away from home” for senior citizens who feel overwhelmed by the pressures and challenges of daily life. It offers a nurturing environment where residents are relieved of worries and can embrace a renewed sense of belonging, care, and emotional well-being. At Bhagat Dhanna Ashram, residents are never made to feel abandoned or rejected; instead, they are treated with respect, warmth, and compassion, ensuring that their stay is a choice of comfort—not a forced transition.
The mission of Dhanna Bhagat Birdh Ashram is to provide shelter, care, and protection to elderly individuals aged 60 years and above, including the aged, infirm, orphaned, and those affected by illness. The Ashram ensures a serene and spiritually enriching atmosphere, offering safety, rest, assistance, and emotional support essential for a peaceful life in later years.
With a vision to create a safe, stable, and dignified haven for the elderly, the organization strives to enable senior citizens to live self-reliant, secure, and respectful lives, free from the burdens of daily chores and social neglect.
The organization was founded through the collective efforts of Gursevak Singh and several like-minded citizens of Patiala, driven by a shared commitment to elder care. Bhagat Dhanna Ashram is registered as a Trust with the Registrar of Firms and Societies, Punjab and Chandigarh. Since its inception, the Ashram has successfully implemented multiple projects and programs that have positively impacted numerous underprivileged and needy individuals.
The vision of the organization is to build a just, equitable, humane, and sustainable society, fostering inclusive growth and dignity for all.
