Our Story
BKJ Society was founded in 1992 by Sant Balwinder Singh Chahal in the heart of Amritsar, inspired by a deep sense of compassion for the elderly and differently abled. Acknowledging the social and emotional challenges faced by seniors, Sant Balwinder envisioned a place where they could live with dignity, respect, and a true sense of belonging.
Over the years, BKJ Society has evolved into a thriving and supportive community, currently caring for more than 125 elderly and disabled residents. Each resident is welcomed with warmth and empathy, in an environment that balances independence with attentive support.
At BKJ Society, we believe a home should offer more than just shelter—it should provide purpose, comfort, and joy. Our committed team delivers personalized care through medical support, engaging recreational activities, and continuous emotional nurturing. We strive to create a family-like atmosphere where meaningful connections are formed and every individual feels valued and respected.
Sant Balwinder Singh Chahal’s vision reaches far beyond the institution itself. He remains actively involved in raising awareness about the rights, dignity, and well-being of the elderly, advocating for a more compassionate and inclusive society.
Rooted in a legacy of service and humanity, BKJ Society stands as a symbol of hope for the elderly and differently abled in Amritsar. Together, we continue to build a nurturing space where seniors can spend their golden years surrounded by care, compassion, and companionship.
