Our Story
Human beings are susceptible to illness at every stage of life; however, old age brings unique and complex health challenges. Physiological and cognitive decline, degeneration, and reduced physical resilience are often accompanied by socio-economic and emotional factors such as retirement, loss of independence, bereavement, loneliness, and changes in social roles. The increasingly busy lifestyles of younger generations and the shift toward nuclear families have further intensified the challenges faced by the elderly.
In response to these growing needs, Aastha is committed to providing compassionate, specialized care through a highly trained medical team dedicated to ensuring comfort, dignity, and quality of life for senior citizens. Aastha Geriatric Center is a charitable organization registered under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961, and is recognized as a pioneer in geriatric care in North India.
The institution focuses on delivering both acute and long-term healthcare services tailored specifically to the needs of elderly individuals. Through an interdisciplinary team approach, Aastha promotes optimal functional independence, physical well-being, and emotional health among seniors.
Aastha envisions a society where every individual has equal and timely access to accurate information, effective treatment, and compassionate care for chronic illnesses—free from unnecessary fear and uncertainty. The organization works collaboratively with healthcare professionals, institutions, and communities to transform this vision into reality.
Established in 2006, Aastha has received several national-level awards from the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India, recognizing it as one of the best institutions in the country for elderly care and awareness generation.
Founded and led by Dr. Abhishek Shukla, a senior physician with over two decades of experience in geriatric and palliative care, Aastha is supported by a strong multidisciplinary team of specialists trained in geriatrics, palliative medicine, and allied healthcare services. Together, they provide comprehensive, compassionate support to patients and their families during challenging times.
