Our Story
A safe and compassionate home for underprivileged senior citizens — a place they can truly call their own. Our mission is to create a self-reliant system that ensures their dignity, comfort, and survival without having to depend on others.
While many social issues receive attention from policymakers and society, the challenges faced by older people often remain overlooked. There is limited awareness about the realities many elderly individuals in India experience — including loneliness, neglect, lack of access to proper healthcare, financial insecurity, and emotional distress. The widespread belief that senior citizens are always respected and well cared for within families often hides the truth. In reality, many elderly people spend their later years struggling silently, facing hardship, pain, and isolation.
To address these concerns, we engaged directly with senior citizens and their families to better understand their needs and circumstances. These discussions helped raise awareness about the rights and well-being of older people and encouraged greater sensitivity at the family and community levels. Over time, strong relationships have been built with senior citizens, their families, local representatives, and volunteers, creating a supportive community network.
With over 11 years of experience, the Older People Sharing and Caring Project continues its mission with a clear goal — to ensure that every elderly person lives with dignity, security, respect, and a sense of belonging.
