Our Story
These days many elderly people face neglect or disrespect from their children, and some are left feeling so hopeless that they think an early death would be better. The situation becomes even harder when parents grow very old: they lose independence, endure insults, and feel powerless to change their circumstances. For those with no children or relatives, growing old alone can be especially painful.
Moved by these realities, Vairatvasi Abanand Maharaj founded a home for destitute elders called Paramshanti Dham Vriddhashram on 15 March 1988. Nestled in a peaceful, God–blessed environment away from the city, Paramshanti Dham offers a safe, respectful, and nurturing place to live.
The ashram hosts a wide range of social, religious, medical, and recreational programs. Community groups such as Mahila Mandal, Lions & Lioness Clubs, Rotary Clubs, corporate partners, and other NGOs regularly visit to organize cultural and entertainment events — including games, music sessions, bhajans, and yoga. Three days a week, a doctor visits the ashram to check on residents and provide necessary medicines; for serious illnesses, residents are admitted to nearby hospitals. We also organize various medical camps in collaboration with local hospitals, companies, and service clubs to ensure residents receive comprehensive healthcare.
Paramshanti Dham Vriddhashram is committed to offering dignity, care, and companionship to the elderly — a place where they can live their later years with security, respect, and peace.
